OTTAWA, ONTARIO (PRWEB) March 3, 2006 -- Dr. Ivan Misner, Founder and Chairman of Business Network International (BNI), the world’s biggest business networking organization, will share his insights on success in Ottawa at a sold-out meeting of local business people on Thursday EVENING, March 2nd.
“The world’s best known marketing secret is business through referrals,” said Dr. Misner who started the now 81,000-member strong organization to help improve his own consulting business in 1985. With BNI in 26 countries and generating 1.5 billion (U. S. Dollars) in businesses for its members in 2004, Dr. Misner has become a world renowned speaker, author of 8 books, including, his New York Times bestseller, Masters of Networking & his #1 bestseller, Masters of Success. He is also a regular guest of leading US and international news organizations such as the, Wall Street Journal, New York Times, CNN, CNBC and BBC.
“Behind every successful business or professional is a successful team of people," he said, “it is not just what you know, or even how good you are at it, but who you know and how well you know them. BNI is structured to ensure that our members can leverage who they know to help each other succeed in their business. The principles of ‘givers gains’ truly manifests itself in the countless success stories of our members.”
BNI is organized in chapters, where only one representative of a given profession is allowed. The chapters meet weekly for 90 minutes in a structured format designed to allow members to share insights about their own businesses and hone their skills on pitching their products and services. The entire chapter membership in turn becomes virtual sales force for each of their members by actively providing qualified business referrals.
Dr. Misner credits the success of BNI and its members to the passion of entrepreneurs and their shared commitment to success by building business networks. He believes that BNI’s systematic word-of-mouth networking approach is effective for all businesses, particularly for small and medium-sized enterprises with limited resources dedicated to sales and marketing.
“Be sure to bring an ample supply of business cards,” said Dr. Misner who will be speaking at the Travelodge Hotel and Convention Centre. “Because a contact today may be a contract tomorrow.”
