Established in 1634, Beauport is one of the oldest European-founded communities in Canada. It incorporated as a city in 1976 through the merger of seven municipalities. During the 1990s, its population continued to grow because of its economic diversification, available space and outdoor recreational opportunities. Quebec City is the capital of the Canadian province of Quebec. It is the largest city in eastern Quebec. It is also one of the oldest cities in Canada.
